StreetGrubs ("we," "us") operates streetgrubs.com (the "Site"), a live map that helps people find food trucks in the Fox Valley area. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
If you're looking for food trucks
- Nothing is required to browse. You can use the map, filter by cuisine, and view truck details without giving us any information or creating an account.
- Email address — only if you opt in to alerts. If you sign up to be notified when a truck is nearby, we store the email you provide, the cuisines you selected, and your chosen distance. That's it.
If you run a food truck
- Information you submit through our sign-up form: your truck's name, your contact (email or phone), cuisine, and any message you include.
Automatically, for everyone
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first tool that does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. It gives us aggregate, anonymous traffic data to help improve the Site.
- We keep basic, non-personal counts of how many times truck listings are viewed, to understand engagement. This isn't tied to your identity.
Browser storage
- If you follow a truck, we save your email address in your own browser (using your browser's local storage) so you don't have to retype it next time you follow another truck. This stays on your device, is used only to pre-fill that form for your convenience, and is not a tracking cookie — it doesn't follow you across other websites or get shared with anyone. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings.
What we do NOT collect
- We don't require accounts to browse.
- We don't use advertising cookies or sell your information to anyone.
- We don't track your precise real-time location. If a future feature uses your location to center the map, it will ask permission first and won't store it.
- We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How we use what we collect
- Alert emails: only to send the alerts you asked for. Every alert email includes a one-tap unsubscribe link.
- Truck sign-ups: only to follow up about getting your truck on streetgrubs.
- Analytics: only in aggregate, to understand and improve the Site.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Who we share it with
We don't share your personal information except with the service providers that help us run the Site (such as our hosting and email-delivery providers), and only as needed to operate streetgrubs. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from alerts anytime using the link in any alert email.
- Ask us to delete your information by emailing hello@streetgrubs.com. We'll remove your email or sign-up details on request.
Data retention & security
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and take reasonable measures to protect it. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above will change when we do.
